A lot of familiar tunes mixed in with a bunch that were new to me. Then we moved to this one. Each song has the melody notes so even if you haven't heard it you can figure it out. Great collection of songs, including lyrics. Just like the first Daily Ukulele book, all arrangements featu Fake Book. I frankly took mine apart and put it in a 3 ring binder because I transposed so many of the songs so I could sing them. All in all, a big, fun book! Just like the first Daily Ukulele book, all arrangements feature melody, lyrics and ukulele chord grids in uke-friendly keys.
I'm going to grab the 366 and see what challenge awaits me today!!! There is a wide range of music styles, at both a beginner and intermediate level. You can find songs you love no matter what your level of skill with the ukulele. I take both books with me on the road and on the water in my cruising sailboat and find them wonderful companions. This may be because they have more experience with playing the ukelele or more familiarity with some of the songs.
Now baritone ukulele players can enjoy the Daily Ukulele: Leap Year Edition songbook. However experienced players know how to quickly transpose keys so they still find the book useful if mainly for reference of a long listing of Uke-friendly songs. I had pulled up the song list from the Flea Market Music site and basically knew what to expect. That makes it hard for my portable music stand to adequately support it when taking it to the local ukulele jam sessions. They sound ok on High G but clearly are intended for Low G just an excuse to get another Uke and tune it Low G. I have both, on Kindle. I will have lots to learn from these new songs, but am unfamiliar with their melody. I like this fake book as well as the first one I bought. There's a short chapter on the difficult chords and to make them easier, including their famous pitch to try using your pinky as soon as possible to make the G chord and some others they should add Em and B7 as well. Purchased along with The Daily Ukulele and I do not believe there is a repeated song.
Personally i think they are pretty poorly slapped together. This particular edition is in a Paperback format. So we have to turn the pages slowly with caution so as not to tear them from the binding. A table of contents with songs listed by difficulty would be nice. However, this book made it so easy to make music! I am a librarian and could not find any good uke music books in our collection, not even through Interlibrary Loans. I am happy that I own it and will certainly purchase any further editions that the authors publish.

A must have for any ukulele game player. The only problem with the 366 that we just purchased is that the plastic binding for the book is just a bit too small for the number of pages, causing the binding to flatten somewhat instead of being very round. You'll find hits by Carole King, Elton John, Bee Gees, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan and Michael Jackson'plus Motown classics, folk songs, Broadway showstoppers and great Hollywood movie themes. I started building my own collection and Jumpin' Jim has some of the best. Most of the arrangements are too high for my voice range so I end up transposing. I'm not kidding when I say that these books have improved significantly the quality of my retirement! The 366 , which we just recently purchased, will challenge me to move on to newer and harder uke experiences.
Even so, I'm 100 pages in and I'm shocked by how many More songs I just Know in the recesses of my brain in this book than the first one. I cut my teeth on both of the big beloff books; sit and play through these and you will get an excellent grasp of Uke playing and the western cannon of popular music. This is theeee book to have if you ever play with a group of ukulele players. Many other songs like that one. Also, the plastic comb binding itself is of a much higher quality than that of the first book.
All arrangements feature ukulele tablature as well as music notation. Let me repeat, yes, the 366 has harder songs, so I would recommend that a person start with the 365! I haven't found any other material out there, whether printed or online, that gives you such a useful advice. The Daily Ukulele: Leap Year Edition offers ukulele fun all year long even on February 29th! There are lots of easy songs to play as well as more challenging ones as I progress. There you'll find a comprehensive chord chart with actual fingerings, which kind of unusual, and quite useful if you are beginning. After using the 365 book, the 366 book looks like the next step in uke chord learning. That said, putting together not one, but two collections, each with over 350 songs, is an accomplishment.
Did I say I like the Leap Year Edition? Beside the basic chords, Jim has added color chords in between to make the arrangements sound much better. The Daily Ukulele offers ukulele fun all year long! Mizen, which is enjoyable listening all by itself. It was published by Hal Leonard and has a total of 416 pages in the book. Look at me, I'm playin the ukulele!!
