We report on the perspectives of 12 mothers who described the independent reading activities of their two-year olds, their perspectives on the purposes of engaging in shared reading with their children, their self-reported confidence in engaging with printed and electronic texts and their own shared reading practices with their two-year-old children. This contribution, based on the findings of a larger study, examines motivations of faculty engagement in internationalization and suggests an agenda for future research.
