Iain Campbell mulled over possible origins and I agree with one of his theories: clank sound like crank, crank leads to crank shaft, shaft leads to penis. Will read more, I'm sure. I have now read the other five books in the Sunny Randall series. He smiled as if to himself and stepped out of the shed and tossed the disk maybe thirty feet straight up into the air. This story was not exactly what I Robert B. Lets just say that Sunny and Jesse Stone have a lot in common besides solving murders. Of course they were uncomfortable; they looked great.
Spine creases, wear to binding and pages from reading. In fact, Sunny is fascinated by the concept of honesty, especially when she rescues a runaway teenager from the streets of Boston and tries to keep her safe from all kinds of mayhem. With the help of underworld contacts she tracks down the runaway Millicent, who has turned to prostitution, rescues her from a vicious pimp, and finds herself, at thirty-four, the unlikely custodian of a difficult teenager when the girl refuses to return to her family. The driveway seemed to be made of crushed seashells. But she is up against some heavy hitters.
The foyer was decorated with some expensively framed landscape paintings, which were hideous, but probably made up for it by costing a lot. I felt that the book dragged a little too much to be considered a good read. May contain limited notes, underlining or highlighting that does affect the text. As, indeed, he handles all situations. Did is involved in murders and trying t I like her character, though she is just like Spenser. Parker commands recognition for his long service in the genre trenches. He was athletic-looking, taller than my ex-husband, with blue eyes and a healthy outdoor look about him.
Patton bore up under it manfully. Bei seinen Ermittlungen stößt Stone auf politische Verstrickungen und korrupte Beamte, die ihm das Leben schwer machen. Of course that's the easy part. The author intended it as a song about a man and woman depending upon each other. Sure she's not a physically imposing as Spenser but the attitude and sharp tongue are there. Light rubbing wear to cover, spine and page edges.
She may be less known than his other characters but, having never read another Robert B Parker book and only knowing his works by the adaptations of those works, I believe she can stand shoulder to shoulder with the best of them. Modern smartphones and computers can read files of any format. She turns for help to her ex-husband, Richie, himself the son of a mob family, and to her dearest friend, Spike, a flamboyant and dangerous gay man. Would you alter the criteria you have in selecting books to read? What is unusual here is that Parker presents an unforgettable, malevolent character by the name of Cathal Kragan. Page 319 I was quiet. All he managed to do was show why he was in that rut to begin with -- because he was already past his time and out of touch with the modern world.
You should know, although I'm pretty prude, this novel is graphic by most people's standards. Sadly, the writing is horrendous. But if the second book in the Sunny Randall series comes my way, I may just devote a little of remaining reading time to it. This is the first in a new series featuring Sunny Randall. Parker has come up with another entertaining mix that promises to be a screenwriter's dream.
The remaining books are simply a rehash of Sunny wanting to be with Richie, pages and pages of dog antics, and an incredible amount of drinking. It had enough to keep you guessing on the end. The guys wore their guns on their belts under a jacket, or they hung their shirt out over it. Sunny Randall is kind of a female Jesse Stone with a lot of the same hangups. Her name is Sunny Randall, a Boston P.
I was a big fan of Parker and his Spenser series. This is the first Robert B Parker book I have read and I must say I am really enjoying it. He's an assured stylist; his 26 books featuring the mythic Boston private detective, Spenser, are a fixture of pulp culture. But Millicent's problems are rooted in much larger crimes than running away, and Sunny, now playing the role of bodyguard, is caught in a shooting war with some very serious mobsters. The narrator Andrea Thompson totally ruined it for me.
